Love music…music is everywhere and I can’t imagine life without it. I was raised in a home with music; my mother taught piano everyday after school I would come home and listen to lessons of others and then practice in the evening myself. My father was of a background of church music and was self-taught, singing was a part of our home, church and long drives. I especially related to the TED Talk this week with Ben Zander; his demonstration pieces were all songs I recognized and got a kick out of his presentation. I married a musician who was in multiple “rock and roll” bands of the 70’s and we lived traveled and lived communally following the gigs of the band. After “settling” down, finishing education and teaching I joined a community choral group and continued my passion for performance music. One of our sons has followed in his fathers footsteps and is pursuing musical performance goals. In our household we mostly get our music from our extensive collection of CD’s that have been little by little getting transferred to iPod’s and choose a shuffle or selecting music for the mood. Joining the digital world to access music has been an interesting one, which we have embraced. We download and stream music while working in the office.
