The first song that I can remember touching me on an emotional level and to this day is still under my skin is Harry Chapin’s Cat’s in the Cradle from 1974. I was in Middle School and my Father had left my brother and I when we were 10 and 11. My brother loved baseball and always wanted our dad to throw him balls, but he was never there for us. Every time this song came on the radio I would shed tears and to this day I still shed these same tears. My father has long passed away but the pain will forever stay.
The YouTube Video I provided was created by Rakin2008 and clearly visualizes the emotions felt by my brother and I.
This too has been one of my favorites--you are a true friend and it saddens me that you had those lost experiences with your dad. My brothers did too, and I also was always sad when I heard this song. Nice touch to bring a visual into it for us to view, while listening. See you in June my friend.
